Last month we were visited by 19 members from the Bailliages of Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. Our German confrères were captivated by the whole experience from the people they met, the culinary delights enjoyed in the city restaurants and the lodges and especially the variety of the natural world in Namibia.

They had organised a 10-day visit that included Sossusvlei in the middle of the Namib Desert, the coastal town of Swakopmund, the rock-engraving site of Twyfelfontein and Etosha National Park.

At the end of their adventure exploring the country we hosted them in Windhoek at the Immanuel Wilderness Lodge, situated just outside the city, for a six course dinner of culinary creations using the finest ingredients inspired by Southern Africa. Each course was accompanied by a matching exquisite wine.

Mint sorbet

Denver Wagyu steak
grilled on charcoal with chimichurri sauce
sweet potato chips, beetroot puree
baby potatoes, roasted garlic emulsion

Mini milk tart with salted caramel ice cream
on chocolate base, caramelized pear

We were delighted to host our German confrères for dinner and share with them the art of the table that we can offer here in Namibia.
