We came with our hearts at Amores Restaurant
" a wonderful experience with its great combination of Mexican and Japanese culinary roots "
Tecate is a magical little town in Baja California which is the starting point of the regions’ Wine Route. It’s a place where some of the State’s oldest wineries are located and where that folklore radiates in its people, parks, gastronomy. The world famous Tecate beer was born here.
The Bailliage interpreted the World Chaîne Day (WCD) theme of “Come with your heart” by visiting the Casa del Anciano San Vicente. We arrived with hearts in our hands, to offer help and company to the elderly, as well as to give the organization recognition for the great work they do.
The WCD celebration was held at the Amores Restaurant, a project begun in 2013 for a love story. Chef Marcelo Hisaki was born in Mexico City with Japanese parents and his wife Reyna Venegas, was born in Tecate. They met at a gastronomy school in the Principality of Monaco to specialise in French cuisine at the Liceo Hotelero de Monte Carlo.
From that union Amores was born. It’s characterized by a mixture of French, Mexican and Oriental culinary techniques. Local products are used from Baja California accompanied by excellent wines and craft beer from the region.
Continuing with the concept of “Come with your heart”, an atmosphere of love was created symbolized by orchid flowers, candles for light and hope, adorned with the same red as the Chaîne flag.
The excellent menu prepared by Chef Marcelo and his kitchen brigade gave everyone a wonderful experience with its great combination of Mexican and Japanese culinary roots, designed especially for our “Come with your heart” celebration.
To end the event, moments of friendship and fraternity were recorded in the photos where awards were given to Chef Marcelo and his entire kitchen brigade who participated with their hearts in his culinary art.
