Members and guests were hosted for a belated World Chaîne Day (WCD) “Come with your heart” themed dinner at the Oriental Restaurant in the Kilimanjaro Hyatt Regency Hotel. Sous Chef Myint Zin, Lokesh Kumar Munusamy Food and Beverage Manager and the whole team of staff warmly welcomed us.

At the reception Champagne Moët et Chandon was served with crunchy in-house made prawn crackers and condiments. Everyone looked smart and elegant. Very happy to be in a wonderful setting and anticipation was sky-high for a fun filled evening of food and wine.

A full table setup had been prepared beautifully decorated with colours of red. Sit down was at 8pm sharp. The scrumptious seven course oriental menu especially created for our event within 24 hours exceeded our expectations.

In order not to complicate the service, there was a choice of two South African wines:
- Sutherland Pinot Noir with fruity aromas, perfumed spices and earthly aromas
- KWV Mentors Grenache Blanc, which had aromas of white peaches, pineapple, litchi with hints of minerality, lime, oak and roasted almonds.

The food was nicely presented with a lovely variety of flavours catering for both non-vegetarian and vegetarian members. Furthermore, the level of service throughout the dinner was outstanding.
