We hope everyone had a great summer break returning re-energized for an exciting programme of gatherings!
The first event to welcome back Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Dégustateurs (OMGD) members, as well as their Chaîne counterparts, took place under the stars counting down to the Mid-Autumn Festival!
The venue was Mián at the 5-star hotel “The Murray Hong Kong (a Niccolo Hotel). Housed in a specially commissioned two-storey pavilion adjacent to the hotel entrance, the restaurant’s kitchen is headed up by renowned Executive Chef Ronald Shao, who is a Maître Rôtisseur.
On the curated menu were Californian wines from five wineries. The evening’s line-up was specially created following Chef Shao’s philosophy of using only the finest seasonal ingredients featuring inspiration from China’s eight great culinary regions.
On arrival we were greeted with perfectly chilled glasses of Gloria Ferrer Sonoma Brut, paired with Chinese canapés. A full culinary journey around the different regions of China followed tasting six more wines that tested your palate and tickled your taste buds.
The evening ended on an extra sweet note. We enjoyed mooncakes from Michelin Guide recommended Sang Kee, graciously gifted by Chargé de Missions Dicken Wong. A lovely surprise to end a wonderful evening!
Following dinner in the patio area over wine and cigars, enjoying the energetic vibes of Hong Kong guests engaged in the countdown to the full moon.
