Nestled in the heart of the beautiful town of Durbuy, the 5-star Hotel/Restaurant Le Sanglier des Ardennes - the true pearl of the Belgian Ardennes - invites you to live a unique experience combining luxury, comfort and refinement.
Its history is an incredible story of a typical village inn that has become an iconic hotel. Owned by the Caerdinael family for 70 years, the establishment has managed to modernize and rise to the rank of the most prestigious establishment in the Ardennes.
Le Sanglier des Ardennes is more than a hotel-restaurant; it has been a symbol of the town of Durbuy since its creation in 1952. Sixty-five years after its founding, in 2017 the famous hotel was taken over. In respecting the tradition and reputation of the establishment, the new owners, Bart Maerten and Marc Coucke, have shown the ambition to renovate and expand it to better meet the desires and needs of its clients.
The first step of this new vision was to ensure that Le Sanglier remains a reliable name in the field of fine dining. Under the leadership of Michelin-starred celebrity Chef Wout Bru, now a business partner of Bart and Marc, the gastronomic offering now spans four distinct restaurants.
Maître Rôtisseur Wout Bru trained at Ter Groene Poorte in Bruges before heading abroad to hone his craft. He opened his first restaurants in the south of France, soon earning one then a second Michelin star. Wout has presented several cooking programmes on Belgian TV including an appearance as a guest judge on the show Mijn Restaurant and judged the second season of the Flemish version of Masterchef. He was also a judge for Junior Masterchef and appeared as a coach/judge on the cooking programme “The Taste”.
