A highly accomplished and results oriented leader, Maître Hôtelier Anthony Chege has over 20 years’ experience in the hospitality industry. During which Anthony has demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and operational expertise. He consistently drives revenue growth, enhances guest satisfaction and maintains high standards of service quality.

Anthony has a gentle and soft-spoken personality which hides his athletic side being a marathon runner and formidable golf opponent! He loves soft adventure, sailing, working out in the gym and holidays in less visited destinations in China.

Extremely well-travelled, it’s fascinating and informative to listen to the adventures and culinary experiences during his time in the hotel industry. He has hosted many Heads of State including His Highness The Late Aga Khan and Prime Minister Narendra Modhi as well as a recent very successful formal function for the Chaîne of which he is a very proud member.

Anthony is currently General Manager at the five-star Nairobi Serena Hotel located on the outskirts of Nairobi’s Central Park. The establishment embodies sophistication through a rich fusion of design influences from Ethiopia, the Maghreb, West and East Africa. The Central Business District a stroll away yet guests are worlds apart from urban hustles in this serene setting. During his time at the helm of the hotel Anthony launched a Thai-themed restaurant called “Herbs and Spices” which has received widespread acclaim becoming a regional culinary standout.

Anthony’s long career with Serena Hotels has seen him located in Uganda, Kenya and Zanzibar as well as a posting in the Serengeti National Park. Amongst his achievements whilst based in Uganda is that he led the Kampala Serena Hotel to win Uganda’s “Leading Hotel” at the World Travel Awards for 10 consecutive years (2012–2021).
