As you are no doubt aware, a powerful earthquake recently struck Myanmar. It caused widespread devastation and left thousands homeless, injured and in urgent need of assistance. Affected communities are in desperate need of shelter, food, clean water, and medical care.

In response, the Bailliage of Myanmar is collaborating with the Myanmar Chefs Association and other grassroots relief teams operating in the hardest-hit Sagaing region. These dedicated teams - including chefs and nurses - are on the ground providing first aid and freshly prepared meals to those affected. The scope of our support depends entirely on the resources we can collectively provide.

The situation on the ground is extremely dire. While we are not first responders ourselves, we are actively supporting those who are and want to ensure that any communication is appropriate and well-received.

It is appreciated that many of you are already supporting various humanitarian efforts. However, if you are able and wish to contribute through a reliable and transparent channel - whether through financial donations or essential supplies (medicine, groceries, dry goods, vacuum-packed food, bottled water, sanitary products, etc.) - please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

Some of our friends from the Chaîne in Thailand are also generously contributing supplies and funds. We are coordinating collections and ensuring that all contributions are delivered directly to our partners on-site. Naturally, we are maintaining transparency and accountability with all donations.
