Enjoying culinary fusion at its finest

Happy World Chaîne Day from the land of culinary fusion, where Asia meets the West.

Our ‘Tastes of the World’ lunch took place at the Hyatt Regency Brisbane to celebrate the 10th anniversary of World Chaîne Day.

The Hyatt Regency’s talented new Executive Chef Fuji Taukatelata led members through a five-course fusion menu featuring courses from Japan, Greece, China, Portugal and Italy.

Each course held personal meaning for Chef Fuji:
Course 1 - Japanese
Course 2 - Greek
Course 3 - Chinese (XO diamond clams)
Course 4 - Portuguese (chimichurri)
Course 5 - Italian (tiramisu)

Each course was perfectly paired with a beverage from the respective countries. So inspired!

It was a fabulous lunch, with members and friends enjoying the camaraderie of like-minded companions. The Bailliage’s mascot, little koala Mademoiselle Shayne, worked the room like a trooper.

Thank you to the fabulous staff at the Hyatt Regency. So many smiling faces. What a team!

And so World Chaîne Day in Brisbane drew to an end for another year with reflections of a fabulous event enhanced by the camaraderie of like-minded friends.
