The Bailliage of Cozumel hosted a wonderful two-day event on October 11th and 12th, sharing the warmth and hospitality for which the island is known.

The weekend began with a wine tasting / appetizer pairing at the intimate and sophisticated wine bar Tres Gotas at Buccano´s. The hosts Bosco Barbachano and Ines Falkenberg presented local seafood, with the highlight being local conch, along with other traditional accompaniments and excellent wines. Members from Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and Mexico City enjoyed the camaraderie. An incredible Cozumel sunset added to the magic of the evening.

The following evening, the Induction Ceremony and Gala Dinner took place at the Hotel Presidente Intercontinental Cozumel Resort & Spa.

Bailli Délégué Thierry Blouet, in his capacity as a Member of the Conseil Magistral, was the Inducting Officer. He was assisted by Kathleen Klein, Bailli of Cozumel, Bailli Honoraire Francisco Morales, Vice-Charge des Missions Francisco J Morales, Bailli Honoraire Philippe Fournier and Sergio Gonzalez, Bailli of Cancún.

New members were welcomed to both the Bailliages of Cozumel and Playa del Carmen including six Chevaliers, three Dames de la Chaîne, one Sommelier, six Maître Hôteliers and four new members to Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Dégustateurs (OMGD).

Chef Erick del Jesus Che Eb crafted a memorable international menu. Sommelier Luca Ballotta thoughtfully paired the courses with exceptional wines from Mexico and Europe.
