Sardinian culinary journey
" under the high patronage of the Italian Embassy "

Our most recent event was held in celebration and recognition of the authenticity and deliciousness of Sardinian cuisine.

We were delighted and honoured by the presence of His Excellency U Kyaw Tin, the Union Minister for International Cooperation.

Held at the Pullman Hotel Yangon under the high patronage of the Italian Embassy and co-organized by Her Excellency Mrs Alessandra Schiavo, Chevalier d’ Honneur, Ambassador of Italy to Myanmar, we were taken on an incredibly luscious culinary journey through the impressive history of this Mediterranean island.

One of Yangon’s top Italian chefs, Nico Lalla joined his power with Sara Udella and Carlo Marongiu, who flew in all the way from Sardinia, to prepare a menu offering an unforgettable “Sardinian” experience.

Authentic Sardinian beers and sparkling wine accompanied by delicious cheeses made for a great beginning to the night which only got better course by course. The gourmet food, presentation, excellent wine pairing, service and ambience left the guests happy and sated.

Yet it was not only the chefs, but also artists and performers such as “Night 4 Tenore”, a dancing ensemble as well as Sardinia’s best harmonica player who travelled to this side of the world to make our evening even more special.

All the profits raised from this wonderful charity dinner were donated for our recently-deceased Chargé de Missions Maurizio Mandel’s life work for his association: “The Myanmar Deaf Chefs”.

We would like to extend special thanks to the Italian Embassy and Her Excellency Mrs Alessandra Schiavo as well to the chefs for pulling together all the strings needed in order to organize this remarkable event.
