A classic Austrian night

" a chance to celebrate the spirit of Chaȋne des Rôtisseurs on the very same day worldwide "

World Chaîne Day (WCD) is very special for our global community, because it gives us a chance to celebrate the spirit of Chaîne des Rôtisseurs on the very same day worldwide.

As a part of our global community, the Bailliage of Shanghai organized a black-tie event at the ballroom of Shanghai Jing’an Kunlun Hotel. Seventy-two members and guests attended this grand celebration. It was an evening of warm camaraderie and fellowship with the atmosphere of a classic Austrian dinner.

For the first time, we provided all participating members with the first WCD pin that was designed especially for the global event!

We were also glad to receive a guest of honour, Vice-Consul General of Austria, Elisabeth Mindlberger. She began this fantastic evening with a short speech about Austrian culture and their culinary customs.

The hotel’s Executive Chef Reinhard Truchlar comes from Vienna. Due to his rich background in the hospitality industry, he created an authentic Austrian dining experience especially for us.

To congratulate Chef Truchlar and his team for a wonderful display of culinary skill, Bailli Echo Ren presented them with a commemorative plaque. There was a standing ovation acknowledging the extraordinary work by the kitchen and service brigades.

Throughout the evening, we were treated to live music and classic Austrian dance performances. Towards the end many members joined in the dancing, waltzing the night away.

The evening will long be remembered not only for the beautifully executed menu, but also the warm fellowship between members on the Chaîne’s special day in the year.
