Celebrating with a taste of Italy
" The event indeed lived up to its tagline of 'The Chaîne meets the Extraordinary Italian Taste' "

In the days following our World Chaîne Day event at the residence of the Consul General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City, we must tip our hats to the chef who travelled far and wide for this event.

Chef Alessio Rasom’s remarkable journey has spanned the globe, from the humble, mountainous, Northern Italian village of Vigo di Fassa to a number of prestigious restaurants including Kinobu in Kyoto, Ze Kitchen Galerie in Paris and now to El Peck in Da Nang.

The event started at 3pm on a sunny Saturday afternoon with a reception at which we enjoyed a delicious selection of canapés:
- cold cuts and cheese with homemade focaccia, olives and pickles
- smoked salmon and pear
- scrambled egg with vitello tonnato sauce
- bread, butter and anchovies
- paccheri baccalà (salt cod)
- sarde un saor (sardines)
- cookies and chocolate
Served with a variety of Italian sparking, white and red wines.

At 6pm we inducted Consul General Dante Brandi into the Chaîne as Chevalier d’Honneur, a rank reserved for diplomats, celebrities and notable figures.

Thereafter, a small group of members who are noted for their undeniable support of the Chaîne, assembled for a six-course menu with wine pairings created by Chef Rasom and the Consul General, Dante Brandi.
