Fully booked at The Boathouse in Phuket
" Wonderful food, good wines, decorations, surprises "

With a fully booked Christmas dinner this was an amazing final event for 2021. Despite restrictions, we managed to have some great dinners this year. The latest changes in drinking rules forced us to change the planned lunch for a dinner, as alcohol now cannot be served in the afternoon. Our long-time supporter Jonathan Bruell stepped up for the Chaîne in Phuket and created the most fantastic evening.

As the sun set, we met by the pool for welcome drinks with a selection of canapés. We were especially happy to see our longest serving members join the dinner, namely Hans Peter Blumer (Vice-Conseiller Gastronomique Honoraire), Thomas Brack (Officier Maître Restaurateur) and of course Tobi Lauinger (Vice-Conseiller Gastronomique Honoraire).

Before the cheese and dessert courses, Jonathan surprised us with a prize draw. Everyone had to check under their seat. Lucky ones found a prize. Top prize was a night at Boathouse. The others were a bottle of gin or a half Tasmanian salmon.

As we ended the dinner with coffee and cookies, the staff from service and the kitchen came out for a big round of applause. Certificates for all the staff, and a diploma for the restaurant were awarded.

Wonderful food, good wines, decorations, surprises, Christmas gifts and a lovely view over an almost empty Kata beach. What more could you ask for?

Thank you so much to Jonathan and Boathouse staff for a memorable, beautiful and delicious evening. A very worthy end of the programme for 2021.

On leaving we were gifted homemade treats from Jonathan and his staff.
