Welcoming the New Year
" an exciting start to 2022 "

The Bailliage’s New Year’s Reception and Dinner took place at Restaurant Rooselaer in Heusden.

The owner is Roni Ringoir, who is a Grand Officier Maître Rôtisseur. Founded by him in 1977, the restaurant is a family business with his son Henrick in the kitchen and his other son, Corneel, taking care of front of house as Maître D’ and Sommelier.

Located in the suburbs of Ghent not far from the junction of the E17 and E40 principal highways in Belgium, the restaurant is nevertheless set in a beautiful, verdant location. This gave the members and guests the opportunity to escape the crowds and above all enjoy culinary delights.

Rooselaer has been awarded a “Bib Gourmand” in the Michelin guide for years. It serves a seasonal menu with innovative creations and great respect for product and taste. The kitchen brigade reflects its passion in every dish.

Échanson Dominique Crombé hosted the evening with the support of Michel Cottray, Member of the Conseil Magistral and Bailli Délégué Honoraire of France.

The event was an exciting start to 2022. We certainly welcomed in the New Year in fine style. However, it was to be our last experience at Rooselaer for a while as the restaurant is closing for refurbishment and to have the addition of hotel rooms. We wish the Ringoir family all the best with this significant project.

Having begun the year with a “bang”, members in Belgium can now look forward to a full programme already in place for the first six months, including a Chapitre, a Gala event for the National Jeunes Sommeliers Competition and a special celebration of World Chaîne Day.
