Above the ordinary!
" held in the excellent Chaîne restaurant at the top of Näsinneula "

The Bailliage’s Chapitre theme “Above the Ordinary” was held in the excellent Chaîne restaurant at the top of Näsinneula. The highest building of Tampere and we were there on the eve of Finland’s Independence Day (December 6th).

[Ed. Näsinneula (lit. 'the Needle of Näsi') is an observation tower in Tampere overseeing Lake Näsijärvi. Built in 1970-1971, the free-standing structure is 168 metres (551 ft) tall, making it currently the tallest observation tower in the Nordic countries. At the top is a revolving restaurant. One revolution takes 45 minutes. Näsinneula was inspired by Space Needle in Seattle while the idea of a revolving restaurant was taken from the Puijo Tower in Kuopio, the Finish city of North Savonia.]

The Induction Ceremony was performed by Member of the Conseil d'Administration Ari-Pekka Parviainen for 16 new members with nine promotions in the intimate Näsinneula planetarium. Bailli Délégué Johanna Hornborg-Ojala and Chancelier Juha Ojamo, who is a Member of the Conseil Magistral, supported Ari-Pekka.

After a champagne reception, new members were joined by other Bailliage members for a festive dinner to which they were all welcomed by Bailli Markki Palve.

The Näsinneula Restaurant focuses on local and Finnish products. A grand experience of intensive tastes for the happy guests was delivered even in the middle of a cold winter. The wines served matched the dishes perfectly as did the always exceptional service.

Sadly, due to restrictions we weren’t allowed to continue late into the evening. Nevertheless, our Gala Induction event was enjoyed by everyone.
