2019 was the last time we celebrated World Chaîne Day in person. In 2020 and 2021 we did celebrate however in the privacy of the family home.

2022 came and our long-awaited opportunity to celebrate with others again took place in my home, an intimate setting in which my wife and I this time could welcome our guests who included our Chancelier, members of our Bailliage and house guests.

From the beginning contrasts of coconut, turmeric and ginger together with root celery set the scene for our menu.

After which came a dish typically eaten on Venezuelan beaches in which nuances of lemon, vinegar, red onion, paprika and sweet pepper were appreciated. The light spicy tomato sauce with squid and shrimp partnered with an Argentine sparkling wine refreshed the sensations.

Bruschetta with spiced vegetables nuances of cinnamon, cumin, strawberry guava, white pepper and curry rose again on the palate.

Having enjoyed these dishes, the palate cleanser of mango sorbet, peppermint and Venezuelan rum was spot on.

We enjoyed sticky Bomba rice brought from the lagoon in Valencia, Spain prepared with octopus. To finish the main dishes was a prime pork rib, cooked to its juicy best and accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes, spinach and classic bigarade sauce.

Ending on an official note for World Chaîne day we then repaired to the garden where we continued with the gathering and formal celebration of our day.
