It was held at the recently-renovated, historic Scandic Hamburger Börs Hotel. The iconic establishment has been hosting guests since 1894 first as a restaurant with the hotel opening its doors to guests in 1904.

Enjoying a top location right in the centre of Turku by the market square, the elegantly refurbished hotel provides unforgettable hotel experiences in a modern setting.

In the presence of Bailli Délégué Johanna Hornborg-Ojala, the Inducting Officer was Chancelier Juha Ojamo in his capacity as a Member of the Conseil Magistral. He was assisted by Conseiller Culinaire Esa Koppelo. A historic, very memorable place for the people of Turku certainly evoked feelings for everyone. The dinner not only celebrated the “Pearl Chapitre” with the inducted members, but also the 45th anniversary of the Turku municipality.

The event as a whole was very successful. There were 126 participants who made the most of being able to celebrate together without restrictions at last.

Also at the Gala Dinner, the National Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs Competition prizes were awarded. Otto Hietamies was declared winner of the 2022 Final. Accordingly, he will represent Finland in the International Final in Mexico in October.

In his Inducting Officer’s report to President Yam Atallah, Chancelier Juha Ojamo observed that the hotel provided outstanding food and attentive service. The fresh food ingredients from southwestern Finland were excellent. The evening included great wines and several glasses of champagne. It was a warm and relaxed occasion.
