An evening 'on the beach' in Italy
" a deliciously fresh five-course meal focused on the flavours of the sea "
At the suggestion of its Bailli Délégué, Gérard Canarie, the Bailliage organised an evening “on the beach” which took place on Friday 24 June at 8pm.
Always on the lookout for a new experience, Gérard had found an enchanting location, the “Baia Beniamin” beach, a real gem lying 1km over the border from Menton. The owners have managed to preserve its untamed charm and make use of its natural products to enhance the essence of Ligurian cuisine.
The owner Chef Luca Napoli and his team took the 70 guests on a culinary journey around Italy and Monaco. A member of the Italian Academy of Cuisine, he has the utmost respect for quality local ingredients and the flavours and aromas of the south.
He served up a deliciously fresh five-course meal focused on the flavours of the sea.
Marinated two-fish carpaccio
garnished with locally grown black garlic and almonds
Octopus fresh from the Grimaldi coast
grilled and served on a bed of crushed potatoes
Lasagnette pasta with home-grown basil
Sea bream catch of the day
Lemon and passionfruit pudding
served with red berries
A wonderful summer’s evening with friends in a delightful setting.
