Summer party at Restaurant Magda
" The 'menu surprise' was a perfect success "
Shortly after his promotion as Bailli of the Bailliage of Thuringia, Dirk Müller welcomed several illustrious guests to a summer party at the Magda restaurant in Erfurt-Allach.
Argentier Michael Zacharias with his wife, and Bailli of Sachsen, Gunter Anton, with his family, deserve special mention. Maître Rôtisseur André Radtke spoiled us with a five-course “menu surprise” in the stylishly prepared former three-sided courtyard, in wonderful summer weather.
Amongst the amuse-bouche, different types of bread from the local baker stood out.
First course was salt beef on avocado with papaya mango salsa. A Sauvignon Blanc from the Manz winery in Weinolsheim was served.
Next, burrata smothered in tomato essence. The matching wine came from the Bernard Pawis winery in Freyburg.
A deliciously prepared char with ravioli, beans and peaches followed. A Weingut Korell Riesling Kabinett from Nahe rounded off this course.
Barded saddle of rabbit with artichoke, zucchini and coconut was next. A Chardonnay/Mauzac from the Chateau Arrogant Frog winery in the Languedoc complemented the dish.
The delicious dessert of "golden beets" with sheep's yoghurt and honey marked the end of a perfectly prepared dinner.
The “menu surprise” was a perfect success.
Bailli Müller thanked Maître Rôtisseur Radtke and his attentive team for a most successful evening.
