Bailli Délégué Norbert Simon, who is a Member of the Conseil d'Administration and of the Conseil Magistral, invited members and their guests to this Chapitre in Linz.

The Induction Ceremony took place in the Redoutensälen, which is located in a magnificent late Baroque building.

Norbert welcomed everyone and gave an overview of the history of the Chaîne and its worldwide significance.

On behalf of President Yam Atallah, he promoted and inducted 46 members. Additionally, he inducted 16 members into the OMGD (Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Dégustateurs).

Norbert was assisted by Chancelier Elisabeth Volpini de Maestri and Sebastian Peer, Bailli of Upper Austria.

Of special note was Grand Officier Maître Restaurateur Ming-Shin Chu receiving his Officier Commandeur award for 30 years’ membership.

It should also be emphasised that 45% of the new members of the Chaîne were younger than 35 years!

After the ceremony and a vin d'honneur, we climbed the Pöstlingberg - with its steepest adhesion railway - to the Pöstlingberg Schlössl of Maître Restaurateur Alfred Gallistl where the Gala Dinner took place. Again, at this dinner the “Young Chaîne” was present by over 35%.

At the end of the dinner hearty appreciation was given to the kitchen and service team for the excellent menu and performance.
