Over the centuries, Ravenna has thrice been capital: of the Western Roman Empire, the Ostrogothic Kingdom and then the Byzantine Exarchate. Moreover, Ravenna is known as the world capital of ancient mosaics.

This extraordinary city was also the “capital” in September elected by the Bailliage of Italy as the location to celebrate its 54th Grand Chapitre.

Members and their guests spent four intense and beautiful days in Ravenna. Over 250 participants enjoyed the historical and artistic beauties of this city. Not only to experience the kindness, discretion and elegance of the people of Romagna, but also to savour the best of the agri-food production of their very generous land.

A kaleidoscope of meat, cheese, vegetables, wine and oils of extraordinary quality were assembled by the expert hands of great chefs who created unforgettable dishes for us.

Our 54th Grand Chapitre was Enrico Spalazzi’s first as Bailli Délégué. It was a nice touch we felt that Roberto Zanghi, Member of the Conseil Magistral and Enrico Spalazzi's predecessor, was appointed to preside over the Induction Ceremony.
