Christmas in the castle
" Such was the demand that it was a sell-out event "
For the Bailliage’s festive end of the year event, Bailli Horst Wüstenbecker invited members and their guests to dine at Table Maison in the Knights' Hall at Wilkinghege Castle in Münster. Such was the demand that it was a sell-out event.
Head Chef David Reineke, Sous Chef Gilles Vanheygen and Pastry Chef Pascal Bombardelli, together with other members of the kitchen brigade, spoiled us with an exquisite five-course menu. All from the castle kitchen, which the service “conjured up” with amazing precision onto the Christmas-decorated tables.
It turned out that the house has had decades of experience in organizing banquets. This was also guaranteed by the Lord of the castle, Rembert Winnecken, and his Hotel Manager Stephan Schmitz with their constant personal presence. The employees were overwhelmed by the individual appreciation given by Bailli Wüstenbecker
Also, much appreciation came when Officier Dr Werner Teller was presented with his Gold Officer Commandeur Award for 30 years of membership and Bailli Honoraire Günter Naroska received his Commandeur Award for 20 years as a Chaîne member.
And the highlight of the evening?
In addition to the excellent menu, it was of course the accompaniment by the well-known Italian opera tenor Sebastiano lo Medico, who literally ripped those present off their chairs with his impressive repertoire from Ave Maria and Nessun dorma to Azzuro and Felicità.
Late into the evening there wasn't anyone not on the dance floor. And if the other hotel guests hadn't wanted to sleep, we certainly could have gone on until the early morning. There was enough energy!
The Chaîne is alive!
