World Chaȋne Day is a very special day for our global community. We celebrate the same event worldwide to demonstrate the Chaȋne spirit.

Therefore our Bailliage organized a black-tie “Come with your heart!” event at La Scala, in the Shanghai Sukhothai Hotel. This grand ceremony was attended by 56 members and guests. It was an evening of warm camaraderie and fellowship. We were glad to welcome our guest of honour Mr Joan Valadou, Consul General of France.

To start the fantastic evening, a warm welcoming speech was delivered by Bailli Délégué Allen Wong, who is a member of the international Conseils d’Administration and Magistral, together with Lisa Leung, Bailli of Shanghai.

Special appreciation was given to the sponsors, Ramesses Ⅱ Caviar and Diageo Whisky. Throughout the night, we encouraged everyone to share their love to the ACCR (Association Caritative de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs), the Chaȋne’s special charity.

Towards the end of the evening there was a raffle from Diageo Whisky, including Singleton of Glen Ord 15 year old, Johnnie Walker & Sons ‘XR’ 21 year old, and Johnnie Walker Blue Label.

There was resounding applause for La Scala’s kitchen brigade when Bailli Lisa and the Shanghai Officers presented a Bailliage commemorative plaque. Furthermore, there was a standing ovation for the restaurant brigade and acknowledgment for the extraordinary work by all members of staff.

The evening will long be remembered, not only for the beautifully dining experience, but also the warm fellowship between members.
