On a blissful Sunday afternoon, the coastal breeze carried with it the promise of an extraordinary event at Monsoon Restaurant in Shanzu, Kenya. The seaside location set the stage for a perfect day. Waves gently lapping against the shore, created a soothing symphony for the attendees.

Hosts Arrtilio and Chef Aziza welcomed guests with warm smiles, making everyone feel like cherished friends. Their attention to detail and commitment to impeccable service were evident throughout the event.

The ambiance was elevated by the enchanting melodies of a saxophonist (Alfred Njuguna), whose music danced with the salty air, creating an atmosphere of pure magic. As the afternoon unfolded, some attendees couldn't resist the call to the dance floor, swaying to the rhythm of the music, their laughter mingling with the sound of the waves.

The culinary journey was nothing short of extraordinary. Starting with a zesty citrus spritz, the welcome cocktail set the tone for the exquisite menu. The starters were a symphony of flavours, with crostini, prawn skewers, baby calamari, and fresh Kilifi oysters tempting the taste buds.

For the main course, the tagliatelle marinara was a showstopper, with al dente pasta cradling succulent seafood in a rich, aromatic tomato sauce. The ‘Monsoon Special Seafood Platter’ was a masterpiece, featuring prawns, lobster, crab, calamari, and the catch of the day, all expertly prepared and bursting with coastal freshness.

To conclude this culinary odyssey, a velvety tiramisu stole the spotlight, paired perfectly with a robust cup of coffee. The creamy layers melted in the mouth, leaving a lingering sweetness that was the perfect end note to an exquisite meal.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm golden hue over the sea, guests savoured the moment, knowing they had experienced something truly extraordinary.
