First Bahraini Executive Chef in a 5-star hotel
" Day-to-day kitchen operations can be very stressful and exhausting, so his approach is always to keep the team cheerful, in a good mood, and active "
Culinary journey
Maître Rôtisseur Younis Ramadhan started his culinary journey by attending training locally and internationally in 2002. For the next 16 years, he travelled to Lebanon, China (Beijing and Shanghai), Belgium, and the US to learn different cuisines. Of particular note was that he worked hand in hand with Michelin 2-star Chef Patron Yves Mattagne in an Asian-fusion seafood restaurant.
Younis joined The Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel for the first time in 2002, where he stayed until 2005. He returned in 2007, and here he is still today, a Bahraini Executive Chef honoured to call The Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence & Spa his home. In recognition of his status in culinary circles, he was named among the 50 most influential chefs in the region by a respected publication.
Day-to-day kitchen operations can be very stressful and exhausting, so his approach is always to keep the team cheerful, in a good mood, and active. He would have to say, his favourite way to have fun in the kitchen is telling jokes and stories from the past. The team is relaxed and enjoys the work. Creating a healthy atmosphere contributes to the creation of remarkable and mouth-watering dishes.
Signature dish
Younis would like to share his two favourite signature dishes: Beef Steak with chive sauce and Black Cod with rosemary and saffron sauce. His guests enjoy the combined flavours and blended tastes of these dishes. There is a secret ingredient, but he invites the readers to visit The Diplomat Radisson Blu and try to guess which aroma teases their palates.
