Dame de la Chaîne Razia Karimjee is one of the Bailliage of Tanzania’s founder members. Not surprising given that her husband, Hatim Karimjee, was the founder Bailli Délégué of the Bailliage.

Hatim served from May 2015 to October 2017. Shemane Janmohamed then picked up the baton until standing down in April 2021 at which time I had the honour of being promoted to Bailli Délégué.

Razia’s devotion to the Chaîne in general and the Bailliage of Tanzania in particular saw her invite the Bailliage members in October 2023 to a dinner at her residence with guest Chef Patricia Gay.

We were warmly welcomed. Champagne Taittinger was served at the reception. Everyone looked smart and elegant, all very happy to be in a wonderful setting and ready for a fun filled evening of food and wine.

A full table setup was prepared and was beautifully decorated. The fine seven course menu prepared by Chef Patricia and her team was nicely presented to serve all our non-vegetarian and vegetarian members.

It was an outstanding event for which we expressed our warm appreciation to Razia in the time-honoured, traditional Chaîne manner.
