Hinterding’s owners Klaus Weingartz and Elke Zeitner serve dishes from sophisticated classic cuisine infused with Westphalian magic. Here one can be captivated by excellent culinary artistry, fantastic pastries, outstanding wines and the charming ambiance of the Art Nouveau Villa Hinterding which dates from 1904.

With skill and passion Chef Klaus Weingartz has been cooking at Hinterding since 2011. His cuisine is modern classical with a personal touch. Traditional dishes are reinterpreted, regional ingredients are thoughtfully integrated and hearty flavours are delicately refined. It’s ambitious and at a high level, while preserving the true taste of the ingredients and gently enhancing it. This is achieved by using classic cooking methods.

In the local Bailliage of Westfalen-Lippe Klaus Weingartz is a Maître Rôtisseur and Elke Zeitner is a Chef de Table. In August this year, members of the Bailliage led by the new Bailli, Michael Rabe, gathered at Hinterding for the Bailliage’s traditional summer lunch in the rose garden. Unfortunately, this year the weather did not cooperate (for the first time in nearly 10 years), so they had to move the event indoors to the villa. Nonetheless, hosts Klausz and Elker had everything prepared with their usual precision making for a culinary experience like no other!
