A prestigious Gala Induction Evening took place at the Muthaiga Country Club on Saturday, March 1st, marking an evening of culinary excellence with distinguished guests and achievements celebrated.
Everyone arrived in their finest attire, creating a jovial, celebratory atmosphere, complemented by melodic sounds of a pianist and saxophonist.
Twenty-six new members were officially inducted, alongside 28 OMGD (Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Dégustateurs) inductees, further enriching the society’s esteemed ranks.
The evening also saw the presentation of four Chaîne Bronze Awards in recognition of exceptional contributions to gastronomy and service to: Chef Caleb Odera, Chef Joseph Macharia, Jolene Markette and Mahul Shah.
Guests were indulged with a five-course menu which was an exquisite culinary experience, expertly paired with fine wines curated by Julie Smith of Le Decanter Wines.

A specially curated vegetarian menu was offered. It featured a carrot medley with almond-crusted miso-glazed carrot and a curried cauliflower velouté, paired with equally exquisite wines thus ensuring every guest enjoyed a world-class gastronomic experience.
Absolutely, it was an evening of elegance and celebration where The Muthaiga Country Club was transformed into a breathtaking setting, adorned with Chaîne and OMGD banners and elegant drapery in red, white, and blue. A magnificent white floral arrangement graced the centre of each table, adding a touch of sophistication.
With 72 members and guests in attendance, along with 110 service and kitchen staff, the event was a true testament to the dedication to fine dining and camaraderie that the Chaîne embodies.
The 2025 Gala Induction Evening was a night to remember, celebrating excellence in gastronomy, fine wines and the spirit of camaraderie that so defines the Chaîne.
