International ACCR - Presentation by Betty Sasenick

Paris (France), June 7, 2025

A framework for sustainable impact

" In a readily appreciable way, Betty used the concept of 'The Four Pillars' .. to define her vision "

At the 2025 International AGM held at Le Meurice on Saturday, June 7th, Betty Sasenick*, the recently appointed Chair of the ACCR (Association Caritative de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs), gave a PowerPoint presentation outlining her vision of the future of the Chaîne’s charitable arm.

The theme of the presentation was “a framework for sustainable impact”.

Betty explained that the ACCR is a non-profit entity established in 2008. After supporting a diverse range of projects, the objective going forward will to continue to have responsible and transparent programme initiatives so that a legacy can be built for the Chaîne for generations to come.

To guarantee this there would have to be change to maintain sustainability. Even though this would be challenging - as is most change - a strong foundation was needed to be able to go forward.

In a readily appreciable way, Betty used the concept of “The Four Pillars” (hence the graphic above) to define her vision.

The First Pillar was a mission statement: “To uphold the values of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs by empowering culinary communities through opportunity, skill-based programmes, and global mentorship, ensuring sustainable, impactful initiatives for generations to come through responsible and transparent programme management.”

The Second Pillar related to fund distribution and fundraising. To preserve a minimum fund balance unfortunately further distributions in 2025 would be paused. To raise funds, Betty said she would be launching a “Paying Forward” campaign, would be making a personal pledge, and would be looking to Bailliage and corporate outreach.

The Third Pillar was a programme redefinition:
- re-evaluating programme types and participation criteria
- ensuring accountability and compliance
- preventing conflict of interest
- programme measurement against clear achievement metrics

Finally, the Fourth Pillar concerned transparency and recognition. There would be annual reporting on both financial and programme activity. Communication is key. Regular updates to members and donors will be implemented. Donors (subject to an anonymity option) will be recognized for their support as will Bailliages and public recognition of corporate partners and sponsors was essential.

We wish Betty every success in her endeavours to redefine giving and secure a legacy for the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.
