Tunisia - A Gastronomic Vision

A vision of gastronomy that goes beyond technique

" literature is a powerful vehicle for transmitting love for a culinary culture "

Gastronomy is not only a matter of taste, textures, and recipes: it is a living memory, a heritage that is told, transmitted, savoured … and the time has come for it to be written.

For example, “La Vie en Sauce”, written by Madame Héla Msellati, is a sensitive and deliciously spicy novel, gently simmered between gastronomy, culture, Tunisian memory, and pleasure! It turns Tunisian cuisine into the main character of a vibrant story, rooted in our culture and terroirs, expressed through language, clothing, food and more. It is a tribute to Tunisian cuisine in its deepest essence: its generosity, its history, and its transmission.

The Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, through its actions in Tunisia, champions a vision of gastronomy that goes beyond technique. By participating on May 25th in a presentation and signing session for the novel, the Chaîne affirmed that literature is a powerful vehicle for transmitting love for a culinary culture. La Vie en Sauce is an invitation to rediscover our roots, our gestures, our recipes, and to understand that every dish tells a story.

The vision of the Bailliage of Tunisia is clear: “To position itself as a pioneer, a point of reference, and a catalyst for gastronomic initiatives in the Mediterranean, by bringing talents together, showcasing local riches, and promoting a gastronomy that carries meaning, history, and culture.”

Our objective was threefold:

1. To highlight the cuisine of the Tunisian terroir by offering a showcase for local flavours and the authenticity of our culinary heritage.

2. To bring together our members, guests, and partners around a moment of pure conviviality, where sharing is as delightful as the dishes themselves.

3. To create a space for synergies, by gathering different associations and actors from gastronomy and hospitality, paving the way for future large-scale partnerships and events.

Vive la gastronomie! Vive la Chaîne!
