Nicholas Tsiknakos, Executive Chef of The Avenue at the Hotel Barsey by Warwick in Brussels has been promoted to Chargé de Missions.

A native of Greece, Nicholas Tsiknakos has been sharing his passion in Brussels for 11 years, following his studies in Switzerland and a long career crowned by a Michelin star and a very good rating in the Gault&Millau guide.

Early on in his professional path Nicholas was a member of the kitchen brigade at The Dorchester Hotel in London under the great Anton Mosimann who was Maître Chef des Cuisines at the time and who is a Grand Officier Maître Rôtisseur in the Chaîne.

Meilleur Ouvrier de Suisse in 2005, Golden Chef of the Year in Greece in 2008, Maître Cuisinier de Belgique, member of the Belgian delegation of the Académie Culinaire de France, his long career is matched only by the striking finesse of his dishes.

Nicholas is particularly keen to share his passion for gastronomy with his guests. He believes summer barbecues are the perfect opportunity to enjoy live cooking around a special menu. His cuisine, deeply marked by its Mediterranean origins, reveals unexpected flavours and original combinations.

Nicholas joined the Chaîne in 2013 as a Maître Rôtisseur, however, following his promotion to Chargé de Missions, he has now formally taken on greater responsibilities as part of the Bailliage of Belgium national team.

Being entrusted by the Bailli Délégué to carry out a wide variety of activities, the Chargé de Missons has a key role in the management of a National Bailliage.

It is said that the personal qualities needed by a Chef are creativity, strong communication, time management, and the ability to remain calm under pressure - and so it is for a Chargé de Missions also! Nicholas is therefore the perfect candidate for the role.
