Since 1856, the Kastens Hotel Luisenhof has been an integral part of the cityscape of Hanover (German: Hannover). The central train station and the elegant Luisenstraße are a just a stone’s throw away. Founded by Heinrich Kasten with the ambition of creating a house of elegance and character, the hotel has continuously evolved over generations.

The MARY’s Restaurant holds a special place within the Kastens Hotel Luisenhof, as it brings together the culinary and historical heritage of the house. Named after Mary Sdralek, a defining personality of the hotel and granddaughter of its founder, the restaurant pays tribute to a hostess who shaped the establishment for many years. Her approach to hospitality -characterized by attentiveness, reliability, and personal dedication - remains an integral part of the restaurant’s identity to this day.

The culinary signature of MARY’s Restaurant is shaped by a closely coordinated team, including Head Chef Nicolas Görner and Jan Krüger, Sommelier and Food and Beverage Manager (the latter being a Maître Restaurateur member in the Bailliage of Niedersachsen). Together, they create menus with a clear regional focus and a contemporary interpretation, grounded in technical precision, high-quality ingredients, and a refined, restrained clarity of flavour.

A significant milestone in the hotel’s culinary development came in 2025, when the Kastens Hotel Luisenhof was admitted to the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs as a Professional member establishment. This membership recognizes the establishment’s high gastronomic standards and underscores its commitment to combining the classical values of culinary art with modern gastronomy.
