'Love is in Johor' edible art creation wins Gold
" an achievement that has brought immense pride not only to our family but also, I believe, to our Chaîne community "
It is with much pleasure that I am writing to share some joyful news about a fellow member of our Bailliage of Hong Kong SAR China, my sister, Ms. Chau Shuk Wah (Eva) who is a Dame de la Chaîne member of the Bailliage.
Eva has recently been awarded the Gold Award at the World Chefs Championship 2026, held in Johor, Malaysia. Obviously, this is an achievement that has brought immense pride not only to our family but also, I believe, to our Chaîne community.
Her winning creation, “Love is in Johor,” was a remarkable piece of edible art crafted entirely from 100% premium Belgian chocolate. The sculpture was both elegant and meaningful featuring a romantic heart intertwined with the letter “J” to represent Johor, and a delicately sculpted durian, the king of Malaysian fruits, surrounded by intricate chocolate flowers and trees that echo the region’s lush natural landscape.
More than a visual masterpiece, the work invited a deeper experience. It was thoughtfully conceived as a multi-sensory creation, engaging sight, touch, smell, and taste gently pushing the boundaries between culinary craftsmanship and artistic expression.
We are deeply grateful for the inspiration and standards of excellence that the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs fosters worldwide, and Eva’s achievement reflects the passion, creativity, and dedication that our members carry with them.
