Dear Chaîne Colleagues and Friends,

It gives us great pleasure to invite you to the 2026 Grand Chapitre of Japan, to be held in Sendai from October 13th to 15th, 2026. Proudly hosted by the Bailliage Provincial of Tohoku who said “We warmly look forward to welcoming members and guests from around the world to Sendai for this memorable celebration of gastronomy and friendship.”

Returning to Sendai for the first time in 12 years, the Grand Chapitre will offer three memorable days in a city where history, nature and rich culinary traditions come together in perfect harmony.

The programme begins on Tuesday, October 13th, with a Welcome Dinner at Toyokan, a distinguished traditional Japanese restaurant founded in 1907 and long cherished by writers, artists and cultural figures.

On Wednesday, October 14th, the Induction Ceremony and Gala Dinner will take place at Hotel Monterey Sendai. Executive Chef Hirofumi Hayashi, together with Hotel Monterey culinary professionals from across Japan, will create a special gastronomic experience showcasing the finest seafood from the Sanriku coast and exceptional produce from Miyagi Prefecture.

The Grand Chapitre will conclude on Thursday, October 15th, with a Farewell Lunch at Suirin, the Chinese restaurant of Sendai Kokusai Hotel, offering guests a refined finale to their stay in Sendai.

We hope that members from around the world will join us to discover the flavours of autumn in Tohoku and enjoy the warm hospitality and fellowship of the Chaîne in Japan.
