Revelling in Monegasque cuisine
For the Bailliage’s July event, the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel was the scene of a great culinary tasting of Monegasque cuisine as Bailli Délégué Gérard Canarie had asked star Executive Chef Marcel Ravin to honour the typical dishes of the Principality.
After a Champagne aperitif accompanied by Barbagiuan and panisse, the many members present were able to discover and taste cannelloni of brandade of cod followed by young guinea fowl with olives and a Monegasque tian. Selected Côtes de Provence wines accompanied the dishes. A succulent dessert called “Port Hercule”, which featured black cherries, was a sublime conclusion to the menu.
Meanwhile, the musical duo “Sonny Nice” embellished the wonderful evening with traditional jazz and bebop. Furthermore, the Bailliage had the privilege of welcoming Leroy Gomez, the famous singer of the Eighties group “Santa Esmeralda”. He sang some of his successes, including a cover version of the worldwide hit “Please don’t let me be misunderstood”.
The beauty and tranquillity of the location helped to remind us of the Chaîne's true philosophy: a gourmet chain of friendship and culinary excellence offering the opportunity to meet people who share a common passion for good food.
The evening ended with a magnificent firework display.
