International flavours from signature dishes for a culinary family

What better way to celebrate World Chaîne Day in Chongqing than with an international spread of speciality dishes made by our members for us to enjoy.

The Bailliage comprises international members from (in alphabetical order) Egypt, France, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Italy, Korea, Mexico, Singapore, Switzerland and the USA, as well as from Beijing and of course Chongqing in China.

Every member brought a signature dish from their home country to share whilst introducing its unique flavours to this culinary family of ours.

It was a delightful afternoon of friendship served alongside an international buffet spread which included:
- pan-seared scallops with mango chutney
- Singapore chicken satay with peanut sauce
- Korean beef Galbi
- Szechuan jumbo shrimps
- Mexican-styled chicken with mole sauce
- Swiss Raclette cheese, baby potatoes
- Italian lasagne
- Malaysian Nyonya chicken curry
- Chongqing bamboo shoots
- Indian curry
- Egyptian style rice with vermicelli

French red and white wines delicately washed down these flavours before we proceeded to German apple strudel complete with the World Chaîne Day logo meticulously prepared by the Kempinski Hotel.

As we tasted each other’s culinary creations, shared recipes and cooking tips, we continued to toast World Chaîne Day. Many personal photos were snapped with our mobile phones and posted on social media.

Satiated but not wanting the celebration to end too soon, everyone then proceeded to enjoy coffee and Irish Whiskey. Once more this treat was by courtesy of Chongqing.
