Olive oil is a product that dates from the 8th millennium BC. As Turkey is one of the five biggest producers of olive oil, what better way to celebrate the World Chaîne Day than with a presentation and tasting of olive oil that was streamed to the whole world?

This nationwide Zoom olive oil tasting was the fifth on-line event that the Bailliage has organized during the long period of restrictions as a result of the pandemic. Participants received a tasting kit with six different olive oils, as well as a second box with 12 different olive oils which could be tasted at their own convenience.

The event was streamed live to the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Turkey Facebook page. There it was followed amongst others by people in Kuwait, the USA, Finland and Germany.

The olive oils were presented by Rengin Suar and Mehmet Laleli. The 50 participants from all over Turkey had the opportunity to ask questions and share their observations.

The six olive oils tasted were:
- Trilye from Laleli
- Gemlik from Arif Tekin
- Antik from Laleli
- Delice from Laleli
- Kilis from Kilizi
- Erken Hasat from Rengin Suar

At the conclusion of the 1½ hours session Bailli Délégué Yves Léon thanked all the participants for their contributions and for making this a very successful event.
