A return to dining in person
" On this night, Gianni sought to highlight the subtle charms of the white truffle "
After months of staying in due to the ravages of COVID-19, Chaîne members were eager to celebrate the end of Bangkok restaurant restrictions. Therefore a splashy return to an old Bailliage favourite was planned: ‘Truffle night’ at Italian stalwart Gianni Ristorante helmed by local legend Gianni Favro. “Gianni’s” has served top-notch Italian food to discerning Bangkok diners for more than two decades with the help of a brigade of excellent cooks and servers.

On this night, Gianni sought to highlight the subtle charms of the white truffle with a thoughtful menu that included a mouth-watering “battuta” of Fassona beef; not one, but two pastas: a crowd-pleasing ravioli stuffed with ricotta, spinach and egg; agnolotti filled with roast meats. All garlanded with a generous shower of the aromatic tuber. A well-selected series of wines rounded out the festive evening.
What a return to dining in person indeed!
