The World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants lists the top meat restaurants internationally based on quality and selection, level of service and knowledge, wine list and interior design. This year Restaurang AG is in ninth place worldwide.

“There is no restaurant guide in the world that means as much as The World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants”, says restaurateur Maître Rôtisseur Johan Jureskog. “We succeeded through a huge team effort from the entire staff. Now we will celebrate and sharpen our knives even more so that we place ourselves even higher next year.”

The menu at AG comprises circa 40 different types of beef graded according to a proprietary system based on flavour intensity, tenderness and marbling as well as the animal’s breed, age, lifestyle and diet.

Johan's meat temple satisfies all meat lovers’ longings. AG has both a meat “sommelier” in the dining room and a butcher who handles the hanging and butchering of over four tons of meat on an ongoing basis.

The large variety of meat hangs in its cabinets with adjusted temperatures - giant steaks together with smaller pieces. In the neighbouring fridge, there are excellent wines selected to accompany meat.

It’s not just steak and entrecôte that counts. At AG the whole animal is used “from nose to tail”. Tongue, heart, stomach, liver, etc are transformed in Johan’s kitchen. And at the neighbouring restaurant Rolfs Kök, managed by Johan’s partner Klas Ljungquist, the country's tastiest beef cheek is served every day.

The World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants justification reads: “Restaurant AG in Stockholm is a paradise for meat lovers, with its mix of Swedish craftsmanship and classic steakhouse vibe.”

The gold medal won by the Buenos Aires restaurant Paprilla Don Julio was not entirely unexpected. Will it be Restaurang AG in 2025?
