Lunch at The Pot Kiln
" A superb effort by all "
For the past few years, the Bailliage of Chilterns has held a World Chaîne Day lunch. They are always looked forward to and a highlight in our programme.
The 2025 lunch at The Pot Kiln, a lovely country pub with a great kitchen, was no exception as it was fantastic. We had a full house and even the spring sun came out for our Crémant sparkling reception in the garden. It was most enjoyable.
Our Pro member Nick Galer, the Head Chef, provided a great menu and his wife Mary, also a Chilterns member, led the service team. It was a superb effort by all.
We had much debate over the best dish, but we all agreed the lobster salad and the breast of lamb were outstanding.
It was lovely to watch the brigade of Chefs working in the open kitchen. The wine pairings were very good and much commented on.
We signed the Rioja wine bottles for the role of honour which will be on display at The Pot Kiln.
After lunch many of stayed in bar and in the garden enjoying the hospitality.
What a great World Chaîne Day!
